The "Holie" Awards

The Holies, my awards for adult performers, directors, studios, and individual video releases, are taking shape.  Right now I’m thinking of keeping it simple.  Here are the awards categories I've come up with so far:

Best Feature (a video release with an actual plot – can be B/G, G/G, TS, or B/B)

Best Gonzo (self explanatory)

Best series (ongoing series of videos with a related story line or theme)

Best Female Performer

Best Male Performer

Best Mature Performer (of either gender)

Best Girl-Girl Video Release

Best Boy-Girl Release

Best Studio (not sure about this one – may drop it)

Best Director

Best New Talent (Boy, Girl, or TS)

Best Videography

Can you think of other categories?  Can/Will you contribute the names of nominees along with why you think they deserve recognition?  There won’t be any fancy red carpet awards extravaganza or gold(ish) statuette.  Winners will be determined based on my opinions and the opinions of interested others.  There will be no “voting,” and no on-line polls.  This won’t be a popularity contest.  In particular, I would like to hear from other reviewers.

Here are a few of the caveats.  I have not watched every 2012 release.  That’s one reason why I’m asking for others to contribute their insights.

In a day or two I’ll be posting “nominations,” as a first draft of people under consideration for various awards.  I will not consider parodies, unless someone can convince me that there is a parody worthy of consideration under the feature category (good luck with that).  My bias will be toward work that is well thought out and well executed.  Insert-tab-a-into-slot-b productions will not be considered.  Productions without a named director will, with one or two exceptions, not be considered.

Have I missed anything?  I’m sure you’ll let me know.  In fact, I’m absolutely counting on it.  I would like to make this an annual event that is constantly being improved upon.  Who knows, perhaps someday there’ll be a red carpet component, a gold(ish) statuette, and a cable TV deal.
