Sovereign Syre is at her best in dramatic roles; roles where she gets to show some emotion, some intellect, some real life human feeling.  We get that in Lesbian Surrender.  Filly Films has developed something of a reputation as a place where relatively new directors (often first timers) have a chance to spread their wings.  Filly is a low-budget production company that has done quite well for itself with a string of cheaply produced hit videos exploiting things like mother-daughter lesbian sex.  They have, however, won my admiration for giving young directors a place to work.  That’s the case here.  Lesbian Surrender is an extraordinary video from an extraordinary talent.  With this production Sovereign Syre has put the rest of the world on notice that she’s a director of tremendous power and a force to be reckoned with in porn valley.

This is a lesbian video with some serious cerebral appeal not to mention some raw emotion.  Sovereign is on both sides of the camera, performing in every scene, creating the drama, delivering believable lines without any hesitation.  There are four scenes and each of them has something different to offer.

The first scene in this video is one of the most amazing porn scenes I’ve ever watched.  Ela Darling is pitch-perfect as a top to Sovereign’s emotionally starved, physically neglected, bottom.  It takes a full 20 minutes to get to what the raincoat crowd would call the “real action,” but it’s 20 minutes well spent.  This, my friends, is art – not just wank material.  Ela teases Sovereign into a state of high arousal before the payoff.  We’re in the same boat.  We know where this is going and we’re wondering how it will come down.  This is one of the most erotic pieces of girl-girl on-camera sex I’ve ever seen.  The two women stay totally in character throughout – not the norm once the setup is through and the sex starts.  For some the highlight will be Ela Darling giving up her on-screen anal cherry, albeit to a toy.  There’s even some A2M here, not all that common in this genre.  For me, however, it was the characters and they way the interacted even in the throes of passion.

Scenes two and three are mostly about sex, although scene two has an artistic element to it.  Scene two features Nikita Bellucci, a delightful bit of European Pastry which Syre devours with relish.  This scene isn't as dramatic as the opener but it has its own dramatic moments and, once again, the characters are consistent throughout, particularly Sovereign, as Nikita doesn't speak much English and has very few lines.  What she does have, however, is sex appeal by the bushel.  Enough said.

Scene three sets up as a sort of pseudo-mini-documentary on the topic “how-did-you-get-into-porn” for Sovereign.  Whether the story she tells is true or not, the sex with Aaliyah Love is hot and authentic enough to make up for any fictions Syre may have inserted into her bio.  The sex is imaginative, creative, and entertaining, in addition to being hot.

Scene Four gets us back to the more dramatic presentation, as Elle Alexandra calls out the sexually repressed, highly religious, Syre and then seduces her seemingly against her will.  It’s another brilliantly played scene; well-crafted and well delivered by both actresses.  Once again the setup is really emotional foreplay for both the participants and the audience.  The two women are really into their roles and, as in the opening scene, they never forget who they are supposed to be even for a second right through the final frame.  It’s brilliant.  It’s passionate.  It’s authentic.  It’s wonderful.  It isn’t for everyone.  I loved every second of this video.  Perhaps you will too.  Caveat emptor.
